LEVITTOWN-BRISTOL KIWANIS

The Levittown-Bristol Kiwanis Club was founded by a group of local businessmen in 1954 and has been an active club ever since. Since its humble beginnings going door to door seeking donations for Christmas gifts for children in need, the club has expanded to provide assistance to children and needy families in our community in the form of vouchers for food, books, clothing, and gifts during the holidays. We partner with Bucks County Courier Times to raise money and with stores such as Burlington, Barnes & Noble, and Acme who agree to accept the vouchers and later be reimbursed by us. Excess funds are used for families and seniors in need throughout the year.

THE BREATHING ROOM FOUNDATION

Cancer is one of the most expensive medical conditions to treat in the United States. When coping with cancer, families are at their most vulnerable and necessities like food, shelter, clothing, and maintaining a normal home life for children are often at risk. Once a family is referred to BRF, they are eligible to receive support for an entire year—or, for families experiencing a recurrence of cancer and/or prolonged active treatment, BRF’s Breaking Barriers Program removes the one-year limit. This support is individualized to each family’s specific needs but often includes deliveries of home-cooked meals and groceries, transportation to cancer treatments, medical supplies and equipment, help with utility bills or rent, diapers and wipes, comfort items, and snacks for the children. BRF ensures all of this support is accompanied by personal touches, including greeting cards, phone calls, and other communication to check in on families throughout their cancer journey–all designed to ensure no one feels alone in their fight against cancer

BIKES 4 SMILES

In the heart of Bristol Borough, one woman is changing lives—one bike at a time. What started as a late-night idea has blossomed into Bikes 4 Smiles, a nonprofit dedicated to providing bicycles to adults and children who might otherwise never experience the freedom of riding. Whether it’s a child whose family can’t afford a bike, an adult in need of reliable transportation, or a family looking to spend more quality time together outdoors, Bikes 4 Smiles is making a difference in the most heartfelt way. The inspiration for the nonprofit came unexpectedly. While out on a ride with friends, a bike was donated to her husband for a child in need. That simple act of kindness sparked something bigger—an idea that, at 3 a.m., turned into a full-fledged mission.
To support Bikes 4 Smiles, donate a bike, or request one for someone in need, reach out through their Facebook page, Bikes 4 Smiles, or email bikes4smiles2023@gmail.com. Every donation, every share, and every bit of support helps bring another smile to someone in need—one ride at a time.
